Writing Prompts Using November Holidays

October 31, 2017

I’ve been hit with writer’s block. Other than some poetry here and there, I was at a loss about what to write. Today, I sat staring at a mostly blank internet browser window, with an equally blank mind.  Writing prompts suddenly popped into my head. I did some searching before deciding to make a mix of my own prompts using awareness days and holidays in November. Sure, we have Thanksgiving. I could write about that. But then there’s Absurdity Day, Button Day, and Chaos Never Dies Day. Yes! This I can do. I now have a word bank consisting of holiday titles.

What do you do when you’re hit with writer’s block? Do you use writing prompts?
